Mercy

This sci-fi thriller from Amazon MGM Studios is set in the very near future where an AI program serves as Judge, Jury and Executioner. The accused is an LAPD officer charged with murder, and he has 90 minutes to prove his innocence, or he will be executed. yU+co designed the opening sequence which establishes the world we’re in and the backstory for the AI court. We worked closely with the director and editors to create this complex visual opening using original and stock footage, CG elements, graphics, and the UI interface that carries it all.

yU+co also created the Main on End title sequence, which revisits key story elements presented as artifacts, objects, or frozen moments encased in glass display cases. The evidence cases are like a physical manifestation of the story’s digital evidence. We created the objects, cases and placards in CG with elegant camera moves that show off the sleek design.
