Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio

Client

Guillermo Del Toro crafted his own unique take on the classic tale “Pinocchio”, a dark fairy tale with beautifully designed stop-motion animation. We felt the creative challenge of creating titles that would live up to the artistic vision of the film. Our Main Title was created in 3D, modeled after a practical prop that was used in the film’s trailer. The design of the credits was inspired by WWII Italian propaganda posters, which are an element seen in the film. To compliment the film’s stop-motion animation, and to add a bit of fun, we had the type in the End Crawl dance with Cricket as if they shared the same physical space.
