BILLY THE KID

For Season 2 of Billy the Kid, the show’s producers wanted a brand new title sequence to open the show. This season takes us into the Lincoln County War, a well-known period of Billy’s life when he gets involved in the violent battle between warring business factions in New Mexico. We adopted the visual language of the period’s Tintype photography to give a gritty, weathered look to the piece, incorporating elements of live footage, 3D and 2D animation. The vignettes convey the action, greed, and violence of this time that cemented Billy’s legendary status as an outlaw. The gritty credit typography is inspired by letterpress printing that was ubiquitous on Billy’s wanted posters.
