THE HYDRA

yU+co was honored to work alongside legendary guitarist Steve Vai to produce a reveal video for his iconic new guitar: The Hydra. This mashup of several different instruments in one was a multi-year collaboration between Vai and Ibanez. We worked to show off the features of this one-of-a-kind instrument by using careening probe lenses and macro photography alongside racking single-source lighting to give the entire sequence an alien and intriguing atmosphere. Our graphics track along with our scoping camera work to help show off the amazing elements that went into such a miraculous instrument.
