THE GOOD COP

Tony Danza and Josh Groban play father and son NYPD cops in this Netflix series. Groban is a fastidious, by-the-book detective, while his father is a disgraced, corrupt ex-cop. The title sequence provides some backstory of the “odd couple” father-son relationship, shown through family photos and personal memorabilia. The camera travels seamlessly through three environments: first over the family refrigerator, then across a police evidence board, and finally over the Good Cop’s desk. The daily newspaper drops onto the desk to introduce the show title and final credits; the newspaper also provides a transition into the beginning of the episode.
