FOSSE/VERDON

Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon were a couple whose romantic and creative partnership spanned five decades. They worked on Broadway and in Hollywood, producing enduring works together. Inspired by their visionary creativity in diverse mediums, we designed distinct titles for each of the 8 episodes in the limited series. They reflect the different time periods of the episodes, and the works that Verdon and Fosse created. To be true to the eras we were representing, we went analogue: all of the logos were shot practically and filmed on 16mm. This meant fabricating the logo eight times as physical props, including optical kodaliths, to allow for subtleties that can only be captured in camera.
